About Fr. Joseph Tuscan, OFM Cap.

Fr. Joseph Tuscan, OFM Cap., was born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1967 and was raised in Canton, Ohio. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Borromeo College Seminary in 1989, and just a year later, professed his first vows as a Capuchin Franciscan friar in 1990. Three years later, in 1993, he made his perpetual vows, and shortly after, completed a Master’s degree in Theology in 1995. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1997.

Following his ordination, Fr. Joseph served as a missionary in Papua New Guinea for four years. In recognition of his service to the country, he was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal on January 3, 2025.

After returning to the United States in 2001, he held various pastoral assignments, including parochial vicar, pastor, military chaplain, and hospital chaplain. He also ministered in the Capuchin Custody of Puerto Rico.

Fr. Joseph currently serves as the Director General of the Archconfraternity of Christian Mothers while maintaining a full-time preaching ministry for the Capuchin Province of St. Augustine. He offers retreats, parish missions, and days of reflection for parishes, religious communities, and clergy throughout the United States and abroad.

He has appeared on EWTN and various Catholic radio and television programs. His conferences and sermons are widely available online and on YouTube channels.
